2024 NYC TECMO SUPER BOWL TOURNAMENT

When: Saturday, February 3rd, 2024- Registration starts @ 10:00 AM EST; Play will start @ 11:00 AM EST.

FORMAT: Compete against other participants using the best of the best players in Tecmo in all AFC vs. NFC Tournament!  Will you choose QB Bills, Bo, and Drew Hill and the Oilers gang? Or QB Eagles, Barry, and Jerry? Do you want Fulcher with his elite hit power or Mark Carrier and his ballhawk ability? What about DT and LT putting pressure on QBs and placekickers alike?  Only the Pros compete!

PRO BOWL EVENTS!: Compete in a series of Tecmo events and challenges throughout the day! Winners receive a medal for finishing first place in each event!

Events:

1.Grogan BallZ - The play starts from the New England 10-yard line with Grogan as QB. The play is already pre-picked as Shotgun XY Bomb. Receivers are pre-set. The participant puts the controller down on the ground once the ‘B’ button is pressed. Any pass that is complete is measured for total yardage. Each competitor will get 10 chances to throw. The longest completed throw without entering the endzone is the winner. (The notable exception to this rule is if the receiver is before the endzone when he jumps and catches the ball and subsequently lands in the endzone).

2. Slippin’ Sanders- Avoid being tackled by the rival Bears defense for the longest amount of time for the most amount of yards. Yardage total is added to the number of seconds on your feet for your total score. 20 point bonus added to your total score if you score a TD.  Five attempts.

3. Bucking Bronc-Bos- For this event, you are Bo Jackson about to receive a direct snap from Center to run the ball out of the shotgun. Only thing is, you're staring down 11 Denver Broncos who have called your play and looking to take you down. Stay on your feet as long as you can! Longest time resisting being taken down wins! Five attempts. 

4. Laces Out, Lansford - Nail as many FGs in a row as you can from outside the 40 yard line with the worst kicker in the game. Longest streak wins. You get three attempts to keep the streak alive.

5. Fastest Tapper- Each player gets three attempts to prove that they have the fastest tap speed. Players control the third linebacker and rush in to tackle the running back on the Power T sweep. Tap speed is measured by the number at the top of the screen on the tap meter. Fastest tap number wins. Players get 7 tap attempts. Any ties will lead to a direct one play “tap-off” to decide the winner.

Entry fee is $30 to participate in the tournament and the events!
